Unless otherwise indicated, teen programs will be held in the Library Constitution Room and for teens in grades 6-12.

Duel & Dice

Meet up in the Constitution room! There is no registration but it will be first come, first play. We might play Dungeons & Dragons, Munchkins or even Magic the Gathering! Come prepared to join in on some nerdy fun! If you are a teen interested in being the Dungeon Master, please contact us on Discord or email gdevecchis@westalliswi.gov.

Anime Club

Join us to watch anime favorites and discuss the manga you are reading. Most episodes are for a suggested audience of ages 14+. Registration is not necessary.

Friday Fun

Friday Fun is our monthly Teens Only program where teens hang out at the library. We put out games, including the Nintendo Switch, as well as some snacks and coloring sheets. Teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to hang out for some or all of the time.

Teen Art Club

Do you need an artistic outlet? Then join us for Teen Art Club! Each month, we will work on a collaborative art project, or you can work on a project of your own!

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

June 6th, July 11th, August 8th (4:30-5:30)

Join our Teen Advisory Board at the West Allis Public Library. Students in grades 7-12 that are interested should fill out an interest form and return it to the library. Find the interest form on our website or pick one up at the reference desk. Learn more on our website westallislibrary.org/tab

Teen: Book Review How To

June 13th, 2-3 PM

Every summer teens have an opportunity to write book reviews for the summer reading program, and every summer only a few teens do. Attend this one-hour session where we’ll talk about how to write a great book review. Write and turn in two book reviews and receive an hour of volunteer time!  

Tie Dye

June 22nd, 2-3 PM

Meet us outside for some Tie Dye magic! We will provide all the materials needed. * Registration required.

Random Fandom

Random Fandom is back again! This time we will be getting nostalgic about Percy Jackson and Musicals. Be ready for games, crafts, trivia and a chance to fan out! No registration required.  

Teen Tasting Event

August 17th, 7-8 PM

A mix between a pizza party and a taste test. We will be taste testing pizzas to determine which is the GOAT. *Registration opens August 1st

Summer Reading

Summer reading begins June 1st and ends September 8th. Read ang log all summer to get prizes!

  • Every 3 books you read earns readers an entry in our grand prize drawing, for up to 4 entries, at 12 books read.
  • Reading prizes will be available beginning June 19th 
    • At 3 books read, receive a ticket to State Fair
    • At 6 books read, receive a coupon pack 
    • At 9 books read, come pick out a free book
    • At 12 books read, you completed the program and earn a small prize!
  • All prizes are subject to availability.

100 Books Before Graduation

Challenge yourself and read 100 books before you finish high school! Sign up at westallislibrary.beanstack.com or pick up a log at the library and list the titles of the books you've read. Be sure to stop in the library for prizes after reading 25, 50, 75 and 100.

Lit Loot

August 15th. Sign up is on the first of the month. Lit Loot is the library’s subscription box for teens in grades 8–12. Each FREE Lit Loot box is full of treats, surprises, and a hand picked library book, just for you. Pick up your Lit Loot box, enjoy, and return the book and the box—you keep the LOOT! You must have a library card in good standing to check out your kit!  Priority will be given to teens that have not yet had the opportunity to enjoy Lit Loot.
