Storytime enhances early literacy skills by giving children the opportunity to hear and learn new words through repetition and context. Each session consists of age appropriate books, songs, and rhymes.
Storytimes with Miss Beth are posted Mondays at 10:30am
Toddler Times with Miss Mary are posted Wednesdays at 10:30am
Previous storytimes are available to view.
Digital Summer Performers
Even though we don’t have our big Wednesday performers this summer, the Library will still have digital performances. These are not live performances and can be accessed from our website and Facebook page on the date listed below.
Magician Jeff McMullan
Get ready to be amazed with a Virtual Magic Show from Magician Jeff McMullan. Mr. Jeff does a special show just for the City of West Allis, where not only does he astound with tricks, but he also teaches you a trick or two! Follow this link to watch the show!

Join Mary on Thursdays at 10:30am to learn about and discuss a graphic novel for kids! Check our blog for a link to the discussion.
Take and Make Programs
Alternating Tuesdays, beginning June 9, a craft or simple science project will be posted on our Facebook page. Supplies to do the craft project or science experiment will be available in the Children’s Department, while supplies last. Some basic supplies will need to be provided by participants.
Mondays, beginning June 8, a new BINGO sheet or Scavenger Hunt will be available on our Facebook page and in the Library for pick-up. See if you can finish the challenge every week this summer!
Summer Paper Chain Challenge
Every time you finish a book, make a link on your own paper chain and keep adding to it all summer. Library staff will also be making a chain! Will your family’s be longer than the Library’s? Our goal is to circle the children’s department stairway. Use Facebook to message us a picture of your progress.
